Wichita South High School senior Amanda Dilly won the 2nd Annual Celebration of Art contest and received a prize of $2,000 for her school’s art department.

Amanda Dilly, a senior at Wichita’s South High School, won first place in the 2nd Annual Celebration of Art contest held by Wichita First Church of the Nazarene. Dilly’s efforts earned her the top prize, a $2,000 check that was presented to her school’s art department in a check presentation at the school Monday, April 28, at 9:30 a.m.

The check was presented to the school’s art department on behalf of Dilly’s award-winning art and the donors who helped make the 2nd Annual Celebration of Art a success earlier this month at Wichita First Church of the Nazarene. Along with an art gallery submitted by students from around Wichita, the church hosted a special appearance from Mike Lewis, the Jesus Painter, who held a community workshop on Saturday, April 5 and painted three works of art during the church’s Sunday morning worship service on April 6.

Started in 2013 by Wichita First Church of the Nazarene, the Celebration of Art event seeks to annually support the art community as an extension of our God-given talents and abilities. Wichita First Church of the Nazarene is located at 1400 E. Kellogg Drive in the heart of Wichita with weekly worship services. More information on the church and its ministries can be found at www.firstnaz.wpengine.com.
