Our legacy will be defined by how we live for God and what we leave behind after we are gone. Legacy Ministry exists to help Christians create an eternal legacy through the transfer of His financial resources in a manner that will be a blessing to family members and to God’s kingdom. Legacy Ministry services will enable you to be a faithful steward of the Lord’s resources by providing information, ideas and resource planning assistance.

Legacy Ministry services are provided to church members free of charge. No financial or insurance products are offered for sale and all information is kept confidential. You are not obligated to give to our church to utilize the services of this ministry.

Legacy Planning

Workshops – Estate planning workshops are scheduled periodically.  These workshops are informative are presented in an informal setting so you can feel free to ask questions and have been very well received.  Watch for information about the workshops at church communications and on the web site.  For more information about Legacy Ministry workshops, contact the church office.

Personal Assistance – From basic questions about completing or updating your estate plan to complex matters involving family gifting, charitable gifts of non-cash assets, charitable trusts, lead trusts, endowments and gift annuities, Legacy Ministry can help you evaluate your planning options and create a lasting legacy that honors God with the wise distribution of His resources.

Professional Advisors – If your needs and planning evolve to the point where you would like advice or help with implementation from someone in the legal, tax or financial planning areas of practice then we can provide contact information for qualified professionals to assist you.

 

Legacy Funds

Legacy Funds have been established to facilitate creative giving options for you. Through our partnership with the Church of the Nazarene Foundation (CNF) we can accept non-cash gifts such as real estate, inventory, collectibles, and other personal property. CNF also enables us to work with you for planned giving through gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and other instruments which may be suitable to your particular estate, tax and family planning objectives. Finally, CNF manages our Legacy Funds that will provide funding support for our church ministries both now and in the years to come.

Our Legacy Funds were created to facilitate charitable giving and ministry endowment development by effective and efficient:

• • Acceptance and liquidation of complex gifts such as real estate, business interests, inventory and personal property.
  • Administration of deferred gifts such as Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Lead Trusts.
  • Professional management of ministry endowment funds.

Gifts of cash, liquid securities or complex assets may be directed to any of the following ministry endowment funds or for current ministry needs:

Facilities Fund — Used for debt retirement as well as for the enhancement of the beautiful facility God has entrusted to us. It’s our desire to be good stewards of it and to maintain it in a way that brings honor to Him.

Church Ministries Fund — Used to support and expand local church ministries committed to discipleship and spiritual development of children, youth and adults. Other regular ministries such as music and worship also benefit from this fund.

Missions Fund — Used to reach the lost and minister to the needy in the Wichita area and around the world. Local evangelism and outreach programs are supported from these funds. In addition, our world outreach efforts and mission trips benefit from this fund, along with our compassionate ministry endeavors.

Unrestricted Fund — Can be used for any purpose of the church. This fund provides the most flexibility to Wichita First Church by enabling your church board to apply financial resources to future needs and priorities which cannot be known or identified at the present time.
