Dear Wichita First Church Congregation,
With mixed emotions we are letting you know that we are moving to Tennessee in order for me to accept a teaching position at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. In addition to teaching various classes at the university I will also be part of an initiative to develop new and creative programs to mentor and help pastors, especially pastors during times of key transitions within a ministry career. In these ways my ministry calling will move toward a more multiplied format as I’ll have first hand involvement in the lives and ministries of many current and future pastors throughout the Southeast region of the United States and nation-wide. I can’t help but reflect on the fact that this ministry assignment puts us much closer to family with nearly all of both Susan and my families living within a 20 mile radius of our new location (except Susan’s parents who live less than 100 miles away). By the way, the boys will be attending the same high school I attended!
Our final Sunday at First Church is June 10, 2018.
I have deep love and gratitude for First Church. I’m in my ninth year of ministry here and have loved every moment. I’ve especially loved having the honor of being pastor to each member of this great congregation. The future is bright for First Church. Susan and I are working hard to finish strong and set up the church for Kingdom success in the days to come.
You’re loved and appreciated.
